In addition, artist Allison McClay was comissioned and created 50 magnificent Audubon-styled original paintings showing what each featured bird looks like in all of their glory. Then 16 Classic Salmon flies are shown in step-by-step detiled photos (often 25 to 30 per fly) and instructions to walk you through their construction. From centuries-old classics like the Jock Scott, Nelly Bly and Bronze Pirate to modern creations like the Spotted Tiger, Lady Amherst, Swinhoe's Splendor and more. Between them all every one pf the 50 birds are utilized to show how their feathers can be used and then a full chapter on substitutes allows you to duplicate them for display or to use on your next fishing trip.
